CT Technologist (Computed Tomography) - Travel Assignment

Location: Melrose, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6 PM - 7 AM, Monday to Wednesday)
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced CT Technologist for a travel assignment to backfill an unexpected vacancy. The role involves performing CT scans using GE equipment and following hospital protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (CT) certification
• Licensed to practice in Massachusetts
• Graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiological Technology
• 3 to 5 years of CT technologist experience (highest requirement applies)
• GE CT scanner experience (GE VCT and Evo/Evolution) is mandatory (deal breaker)
• BLS Certification

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and related equipment, including warming up the scanner, running quality assurance, and managing pressure injectors
• Perform CT procedures efficiently while providing appropriate patient care and feedback
• Adjust and manipulate images to meet diagnostic specifications (windowing, contrast, algorithms, reformatted images)
• Ensure all scans are properly identified with correct patient and exam information
• Complete administrative tasks related to CT procedures, including tech edits and room preparation
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors
• Communicate preliminary findings (“wet readings”) to physicians and clinical staff as needed
• Retrieve prior exams and prepare images for radiologists or emergency department requests
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and control rooms, including stocking supplies
• Perform clerical duties to support workflow and quality standards
