MRI Technologist

Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced

Job Summary

• Perform MRI procedures following established protocols under the supervision of certified radiologists.
• Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student MRI Technologists.
• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care.
• Obtain correct written orders for procedures and efficiently manage patient care assignments.
• Prepare and instruct patients regarding imaging procedures; assist in obtaining informed consent.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, and family members.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation including orders, diagnosis, and clinical history.
• Promote good customer relations and demonstrate professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Utilize imaging equipment efficiently to minimize repeat exams and control costs.
• Adhere to hospital, departmental, and safety policies including radiation safety following ALARA principles.
• Complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure.
• Support department goals and projects; maintain confidentiality of medical and sensitive information.
• Assist other imaging team members and departments as needed; demonstrate flexibility and accountability.
• Take initiative to improve departmental operations and complete required documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid license as an MRI Technologist.
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience.
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to perform and teach MRI exams producing diagnostic-quality images.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
• Ability to safely operate MRI and post-processing equipment.
• Professional appearance and mature demeanor.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information.

Skills & Knowledge

• Operation of standard office equipment.
• Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and departmental improvement.
