Registered Nurse – Electrophysiology

Location: Evergreen Park, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week

Position Summary

• Assist physicians with arteriograms and specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique.
• Prepare examination area and position patients for procedures.
• Operate complex radiology equipment following established techniques.
• Circulate and record cardiac cases in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
• Scrubbing is not required.
• Provide patient care appropriate to patient age groups served.

Work Environment

• Unit: EP Lab with 3 procedure rooms (2 Cath, 1 EP).
• Average cases: 3-4 per room per day.
• Use of EMR systems: EPIC and McKesson.
• Surgical scrubs provided.
• Orientation specific to unit provided.

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• Self-scheduling allowed.
• Call required every 3rd weekend and 2 weekdays per week.
• Rotational holiday call coverage with 30-minute call response time.
• Floating limited to Cath Lab and EP only.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Electrophysiology Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Additional Notes

• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation).
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay requirement.
