Description
Registered Nurse – Electrophysiology
Location: Evergreen Park, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Position Summary
- Assist physicians with arteriograms and specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique.
- Prepare examination area and position patients for procedures.
- Operate complex radiology equipment following established techniques.
- Circulate and record cardiac cases in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
- Scrubbing is not required.
- Provide patient care appropriate to patient age groups served.
Work Environment
- Unit: EP Lab with 3 procedure rooms (2 Cath, 1 EP).
- Average cases: 3-4 per room per day.
- Use of EMR systems: EPIC and McKesson.
- Surgical scrubs provided.
- Orientation specific to unit provided.
Scheduling & Call Requirements
- Self-scheduling allowed.
- Call required every 3rd weekend and 2 weekdays per week.
- Rotational holiday call coverage with 30-minute call response time.
- Floating limited to Cath Lab and EP only.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of Electrophysiology Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Additional Notes
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation).
- Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay requirement.
