Description
Ultrasound Tech - Vascular (Travel/Contract)
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Specialty: Vascular Ultrasound within Radiology/Cardiology
- Average daily procedures: 20-35
- Call required overnight and on weekends
- Weekend requirement: 2-3 weekends per 13-week assignment
- Rotation includes offsite location on Mondays and Fridays (flexibility needed)
- No floating outside scope of practice
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but not guaranteed
- Local candidates accepted without radius restrictions
- Experience working with adult population required
- Dialysis graft study experience preferred
- Cerner electronic health record experience required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Vascular Sonographer experience required
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system required
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
- SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Illinois Department of Corrections inmate search
- Illinois Most Wanted and State Police Murderer/Violent Offender Against Youth registries
- Fingerprinting: Must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start; required for clinical candidates without Illinois license
- Education verification required (unofficial or official transcripts accepted if pending)
- Drug screen: 9-panel within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations/vaccinations or documented exemptions required for:
- Flu (annual, with medical/religious exemption if applicable)
- TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines, positive titer, or declination)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or declination)
