Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation of care, and participation in interdisciplinary team discussions. Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment while supporting patient and family education.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical-surgical needs, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on individual needs.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate education materials.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and professional development activities.
• Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Recognize and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care.
• Anticipate discharge needs and support patient advocacy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 3 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
