Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks

Unit Information

• Department: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 22
• Patient Ratios:

  • 4:1 for pod patients
  • 2:1 for critical patients
  • 6:1 for fast track patients
• Patient Population: All (including trauma, STEMIs, psychiatric, cardiac, GI, stroke)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Attributes

Additional Information

• No float requirements
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color or print; non-scrub attire, t-shirts, open-toe shoes, hoodies, and leggings are not allowed
• Orientation occurs every 2nd and 4th Monday

Summary

This is a travel RN position in the Emergency Department with a 13-week contract. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience and certifications in ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC. The shift is nights with a 36-hour workweek and includes weekend shifts but no on-call duties. The unit cares for a diverse patient population including trauma and critical cases, using Cerner EHR.
