Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Shifts: 4 shifts in 4 weeks
Call Requirements: None

Unit Profile

• Department: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 22
• Patient Ratios:

  • 4:1 for pod patients
  • 2:1 for critical patients
  • 6:1 for fast track patients
• Patient Population: All (including trauma, STEMI, psychiatric, cardiac, GI, stroke)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Experience

• Trauma nursing experience
• Pediatric nursing experience

Work Environment & Expectations

• No float requirements
• No call responsibilities
• Personality fit: hard worker, resilient, team-oriented, easy-going
• Dress code: scrubs of any color or print; non-scrub attire, t-shirts, open-toe shoes, hoodies, and leggings are not allowed

Orientation

• Orientations held every 2nd and 4th Monday

• The role requires working in a fast-paced emergency department setting with varied patient acuity.
