Approximately 13 weeks
Shift Details
- 3 or 4 shifts per week, each 10 hours
- On-call: typically 1 weekday shift per week and 1 weekend per month
Job Summary
- Perform angiography procedures including scrubbing, setting techniques, and imaging
- Assist as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech following lab policies and scope of practice
- Operate interventional radiology (IR) equipment and related information systems to produce quality images
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment
- Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address patient/family concerns
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information
- Coordinate patient care and communicate with other providers post-procedure
- Perform sheath suturing or removal and apply pressure for hemostasis
- Maintain work area and stock supplies
- Transport patients as needed
- Assist with specialized procedures including SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, nephrostomy and biliary tube placements, CT-guided drains, biopsies, ablations, and neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- ARRT (R) certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
