    Occupational Therapist (Acute Care Hospital) - Travel/Contract

    Location: Burlingame, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    • Provide occupational therapy services in an acute care setting.
    • Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs to help patients build or restore vocational, homemaking, daily living skills, and general independence.

    Schedule

    • Day shift, Tuesday through Saturday
    • 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift (08:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience, including experience within the last year
    • Experience in an acute care setting
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and other regulatory screenings.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, and other federal/state checks required and must be updated annually as applicable.
    • Official transcripts/diplomas or attestation of verification attempts required.
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work and any work restrictions documented.
    • TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually, with negative TB test or chest x-ray as required.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types required). Religious exemptions for facial hair considered case-by-case.
    • Immunizations required: Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April). Medical and religious exemptions considered with proper documentation.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually.
    • Color blindness exam if applicable, must be in-person and documented by a licensed healthcare provider.

    Documentation and Verification

    • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; employment verification required for up to 7 years.
    • Two professional references required within 3 years for clinical/allied acute care candidates.
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be renewed annually.
    • Various facility-specific documents must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation.
