Surgical Tech - CVOR CST

Location: Boulder, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: CVOR Tech with 9 suites (1 specifically for cardiac cases)
• Common Cases:

  • Scrubbing for CABG, open heart surgery, mitral valve replacement, DaVinci cardiac procedures, mitral clips
  • Float to cath lab for TAVRs
  • Float to SPD to assist with sterile processing, pulling cases, pulling instruments, room turnover, and break relief
• Shifts & Scheduling:

  • 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM (preference for 10-hour shifts, but flexible)
  • Typical schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM) or 3 twelve-hour shifts (6:30 AM–7:00 PM)
• Call Requirements:

  • 2-3 weeknight call shifts (11 PM–7 AM) in a 6-week rotation (Monday–Thursday)
  • Weekend call from Friday 7 PM to Monday 7 AM (12-hour increments), 1-2 weekends every 5-6 weeks
  • Holiday on-call per rotation to fill gaps as needed
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Floating: To main OR as needed
• Orientation: 3 days up to 2 weeks depending on experience, with specialty area orientation
• Dress Code: Scrub color provided
• Work Environment: Positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and adaptability to facility flow and protocols are essential
• Support: Charge nurse present on every shift (does not take case load during normal hours), plus a lead on staff
• Call rooms available onsite

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required (acceptable for first-time travelers if they meet this experience requirement)

Additional Information

• Self-scheduling available for call shifts
• Manager will coordinate further communication for interview/contract setup

Summary

This is a 13-week surgical tech contract in a cardiovascular operating room setting requiring a CST certification and at least 2 years of OR experience.
