Unit: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
Patient Population: Adults and newborns
Unit Beds: 15 total (6 Labor & Delivery, 9 Postpartum)
Patient Ratios: Per AWHONN standards

Float Requirements: Yes, may float to other departments based on census and needs

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Nevada
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in OB/GYN, Postpartum, and Nursery care
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS, NRP, ACLS certifications
Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification

Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD) – no VBAC
Cesarean section care
OB triage
Nonstress test administration
Postpartum and newborn care, including procedures
Management of hemorrhages
Fetal monitoring and interventions
Management of pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, and hypertensive crisis patients
