Description
Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Position
Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Hours: Yes
Call Requirements: None
Unit Information
- NICU with 25 beds plus overflow on pediatric floor
- Patient ratios vary by acuity; typically includes feeders, CPAP, nitric oxide, and cooling patients
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
- Possible float to mother-baby or pediatrics units (unlikely due to high census)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arkansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience, including experience within the last year
- Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Experience caring for level 3 NICU infants including:
- High frequency and conventional ventilators
- CPAP, NIMV, HFNC
- Nitric oxide therapy
- Whole body cooling
- OG/NG/PO feedings
- UAC, UVC, PICC, PIV lines
- Attending high-risk deliveries and all cesarean section deliveries
