Description
Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Med/Surg Telemetry RN with potential to float to units caring for the same patient population, including Emergency Department.
- Rotating shifts: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (either night 7pm–7:30am or day 7am–7:30pm). Shift rotation may be required to meet operational needs.
- Must work at least every other holiday.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS certification
Orientation & Competency Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video must be watched before testing).
- Baseline competency exams (medication and ECG) at orientation with remediation and retake opportunities if needed.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
- Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 or 1870+) within 12 months of start, updated annually. PAPRs not provided for facial hair failure unless approved exemption submitted.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual questionnaire if history of positive TB
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if needed
- Annual flu vaccination (no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions require agency approval)
- Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start.
Background & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment.
- Comprehensive background check prior to start, including FCRA-compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually. Fingerprints must be done under nursing code 4723.09. Facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days of start.
- Employment application with at least 3 years prior work history including 2 years clinical acute care in a similar area.
- Two professional references from within one year of start date (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to complete all onboarding modules and documentation prior to clearance to start.
- Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months since their last assignment at this facility may be exempt from some orientation testing and module requirements.
- Facility uses Qualivis – Lotus system for submitting hours worked.
