CT Technologist

Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Call Requirements: One or two 16-24 hour shifts every 6 weeks; may require floating to other facilities

Job Summary

• Perform CT scans following established protocols under the supervision of radiologists.
• Produce diagnostic images of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians.
• Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists.
• Maintain good patient and customer relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care.
• Obtain correct written orders for procedures and efficiently manage time to meet quality and timeliness standards.
• Assist in clinical education of student technologists.
• Minimize repeat examinations through efficient use of imaging equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and instruct patients about imaging procedures; assist with informed consent as needed.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, and family members.
• Adhere to hospital, departmental, and safety policies, including radiation safety following ALARA principles.
• Complete mandatory annual in-services and maintain current licensure.
• Support departmental goals and maintain confidentiality of medical information.
• Assist other imaging team members and departments as needed; demonstrate flexibility and initiative.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently.
• Frequent use of hand/finger dexterity and reaching with hands/arms.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, radiation, toxic chemicals, and blood-borne pathogens.
• Work under stressful conditions, deadlines, irregular hours, and possible weekend/holiday shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year

• Must be a self-starter with accountability and teamwork skills.
• Expected to contribute ideas for improving departmental operations.
