Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12


Job Description

  • Manage OB triage, outpatient testing, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and nursery care.
  • No circulating or scrubbing in the OR.
  • Use OBIX for fetal surveillance and EPIC for electronic health records (experience with these systems highly preferred).
  • Provide nursing care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Teach patients and their support persons.
  • Document patient care in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years labor and delivery experience with current fetal heart monitoring.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OBIX and EPIC systems.
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) and STABLE certifications.

Additional Information

  • Resume and skills checklist (within 1 year) required for application.
  • Certifications and Oregon nursing license do not need to be active at time of submission but candidate must be willing to obtain them.
  • 16 hours of unbillable overtime paid at 1.25x rate.
  • Client may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract.

Facility Services Overview

  • Comprehensive medical services including pediatrics, childbirth and obstetrics, gynecology, oncology, diabetes and kidney disease treatment, geriatric medicine, emergency medicine, and various specialty services.
  • Onsite Nurse Practitioner available in Employee Health Department for employees and their dependents.

Note: Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
