Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM)
- Average Daily Census: 21 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- Floating: May float within scope to other departments as needed
- Schedule: Block scheduling accommodation possible
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restriction
- Guaranteed Hours: Subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Blood product administration
- Peripheral line care/management
- PICC line management
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption by November 30
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Fingerprinting and Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry results required if no active IL license
- State-specific criminal and offender registry searches required within 30 days of start
- Education verification and competency exam required
- Photo for badge within one week of contract signing
- Code of conduct acknowledgment required within 7 days of contract signing
- Parking permit required (no cost)

- On-call not required
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
