MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Evenings 11:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Tuesday through Thursday)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• CT Technologist experience
• Experience with Cerner

Schedule & Work Conditions

• No floating outside scope of practice
• Open to discussing block schedule requests with manager
• Local candidates accepted without radius restrictions
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
• Candidate must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting compliance

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid/current US Driver’s License or US ID
• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace, Counties, States, National Criminal, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification (degree verification required)
• Primary source verification of state license and certifications
• Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
• Badge photo (color, mid-shoulders up, plain background) due before start
• Signed Code of Conduct within 7 days of contract signing
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by appropriate healthcare provider, confirming good health and ability to perform job functions
• Fit mask test required (3M1860 small/regular, 1870, or 1870+ masks acceptable)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or documentation for:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or signed declination)
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Methadone, Methaqualone, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Propoxyphene)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by November 30 annually
• Illinois-specific background checks including:

  • Department of Corrections Inmate Search
  • Most Wanted Search
  • State Police Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting required for clinical candidates without an Illinois state license; fingerprints must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start

Additional Notes

• Candidate may be called off up to 36 hours during the 13-week assignment without pay for those hours
• On-call shifts count as called-off shifts if used in lieu of cancellation
• Facility accommodates latex allergies

This position is ideal for MRI technologists with strong multi-system MRI skills, Cerner experience, and the ability to work evenings and weekends in a Level I trauma, Magnet-recognized acute care hospital setting.
