Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

  • Saint Louis, Missouri

Employment Type

  • Travel assignment

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 07:00)
  • Approximately 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Weekend and call hours as required by the facility
  • Float requirements as needed

Unit and Patient Population

  • Respiratory department within a large hospital licensed for 767 beds
  • Patient types include respiratory patients across multiple critical care areas: SICU, CCU, CVICU, Emergency Department, Neuro, and Trauma
  • High volume, busy Emergency Department with trauma cases
  • Pediatric patients stabilized in ED and transferred offsite

Equipment and Systems

  • Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, Bellavista ventilator (incoming), VapoTherm, Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
  • Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Experience with blood gas draw, processing (GEM analyzer), and interpretation

Skills and Experience

  • Strong background in adult critical care and trauma care
  • Ability to manage high patient volumes efficiently
  • Confident, strong therapist with good time management skills
  • Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows

Dress Code

  • Black scrubs required (facility standard)

This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level 2 Trauma Center with nationally recognized specialty certifications and a high-acuity patient population in a well-established hospital setting.
