Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1830 - 0700)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Job Summary
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
- Number of Openings: 1
- Work environment includes adult critical care, high-volume busy Emergency Department (ED) with trauma cases
- Patient population includes respiratory patients across multiple units: SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, Trauma
- Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and then transported offsite
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Skills
- Blood gas draw and processing on GEM analyzers
- Blood gas interpretation
Unit & Equipment Information
- Licensed for 767 beds
- Patient ratios based on a point system and staffing levels
- Equipment includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, Bellavista ventilator (incoming), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
Work Requirements
- Weekend and call hours as required by the facility
- Float to other areas as needed
- Must comply with flu vaccination requirement (November 1 - April 1); declinations are not accepted
- Dress code: Mercy standard black scrubs only
Personality Fit
- Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills
- Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows

- Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center with nationally recognized certifications including Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 STEMI Center
