Job Opportunity: RN - Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum
Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation of care, and participation in interdisciplinary team discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
- Circulate for C-sections and triage obstetric patients.
- Assess readiness to learn and developmental levels of patients and families; use patient education materials appropriately.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
- Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Recognize and synthesize complex assessment data to determine care priorities.
- Anticipate discharge needs and support family advocacy.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school
Education
- Required: Nursing Diploma OR ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school.
- Preferred: BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.
