Description
CT Technologist - Contract
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 12 AM – 8 AM
Hours: 8 hours per day, 38 hours per week
Job Description
- Perform CT procedures using appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic images.
- Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all CT equipment before patient studies.
- Inject patients with radioactive material following physician orders and prescribed protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation including logs, manuals, charge documents, and report equipment issues to comply with regulatory standards.
- Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests adhering to radiation safety guidelines and the ALARA principle.
- Manage patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use and verify receipt and activity levels on delivery day.
- Assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after procedures in the Radiology department.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in New York (L.R.T).
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT.
- Completion of a Radiologic Technologist program.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Additional Information
- Must follow prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy in CT procedures.
- Exercise appropriate judgment in patient care throughout the imaging process.
