Description
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Contract
Location: Tacoma, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Provide speech therapy services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Treat approximately 7-8 patients per day, either fully outpatient or a combination of 4 outpatient and 3-4 inpatient.
- Patient diagnoses include post-concussion, CVA (stroke), TBI, head & neck cancer.
- Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Certified Primary Stroke Center.
Schedule
- Dayshift: Sunday through Thursday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM
- 40 hours per week
- No weekend or holiday requirements
- Potential to float to nearby facilities
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- CCC-SLP credential required (CCC-A not accepted)
Job Duties & Skills
- Independently perform bedside swallow evaluations and follow-up care
- Conduct communication evaluations and follow-up
- Administer standardized outpatient tests
- Ability to float to other nearby facilities as needed
Additional Information
- Department-specific orientation provided
- Dress code: dark blue or black scrubs (scrub top or other top with scrub pants acceptable)
- Candidates must not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any related facilities within the past year
