Registered Nurse (Cath Lab) - Illinois

Job Details

• Location: Kankakee, Illinois
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Schedule: Four 9-hour shifts per week (36 hours total)
• Call: Rotating call including holidays; must respond within 30 minutes while on call
• Average Cases per Day: 10-12
• Department: Cath Lab with 5 suites/labs (3 Cath, 1 IR, 1 EP)
• Orientation: One week, with exposure to all areas

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Illinois RN license (must have in hand)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience; 3+ years preferred
• Must be able to float to at least 2 of the 3 lab areas (Cath, IR, EP)
• Highly preferred experience with TAVR procedures
• Prior travel experience preferred
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Familiarity with Xper equipment

Common Procedures & Diagnoses

• TAVR, Watchman, Diagnostic Cath, IABP, Left heart cath, PFO closure
• Arthrectomy, Lead extractions, Peripheral interventions
• Ablations (pacemaker/ICDs), AAA repair, Cardioversions
• Pericardial centesis, IFR, FFR, SWAN catheter, Radiofrequency ablation
• PVI, Impella, Rotablator, CSI-radio, Loop recorders
• Valvuloplasty, Carotid procedures, Hybrid TAA
• IR cases excluding heart cases

Job Duties

• Circulating nurse duties
• Sedation monitoring
• Scrubbing not required

Call & Scheduling Details

• Call coverage 1-2 weeknights, every 4th Friday through Monday on weekends
• Holiday call as needed
• Must live within 30 minutes of facility while on call
• Local candidates must live within 20 miles of the facility

Team & Support

• In-house cardiologists during the day; on-call at night
• Cath Lab techs and charge nurse available
