Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Billings, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (10 AM start)
Hours: 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care and safety of patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures, with or without sedation. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and efficiency. The nurse serves as a resource to students and new caregivers and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Pre-operative RN to assess patient needs and procedure requirements; perform ongoing assessments and document changes.
• Develop, implement, and communicate individualized plans of care to meet patient goals.
• Respond to patient comfort needs and family requests for health information.
• Apply aseptic techniques and monitor compliance within the surgical team, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Support, educate, and reassure patients and families.
• Integrate theoretical knowledge into clinical practice and use evidence-based research to improve patient outcomes.
• Evaluate nursing care quality and participate in activities to enhance patient care and the healthcare environment.
• Document equipment use and assist with inventory management.
• May float to other perioperative or nursing units as needed within competency.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, with recent experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
