Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
Location: Olney, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include patient assessment, development and implementation of care plans, documentation, and ensuring patient and staff safety within the Emergency Department (ED).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
- Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healing environment.
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ECRN (Certified Emergency Communications RN)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of nursing experience specifically in Emergency Department or critical care settings.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
