Job Opportunity: Technologist (X-Ray)

Location: Mount Clemens, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Afternoons

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Coordinate and perform computerized tomography (CT) scanning procedures.
• Set up, monitor, and operate complex CT equipment for diagnostic imaging.
• Transfer and position patients safely using proper lifting techniques and immobilization devices as needed.
• Prepare and inject contrast media intravenously according to radiologist protocols.
• Capture, develop, and record diagnostic images for permanent patient files.
• Organize daily patient schedules in cooperation with support staff.
• Maintain image quality and perform daily calibration and quality control of equipment.
• Monitor patients for allergic reactions and respond appropriately; assist with emergency medical situations including basic CPR.
• Follow safety standards and regulations to protect self and patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and inventory of supplies in the work environment.
• Assist radiologists and other physicians with specialized radiological procedures.
• Review and record patient history and clinical data to aid diagnosis.
• Participate in quality assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Instruct new personnel as needed.
• Maintain registry compliance per regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in X-Ray or related technologist role.
• Valid Michigan license appropriate for the technologist specialty.
• Ability to perform intravenous contrast injections.
• Basic CPR certification and ability to assist in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of safety standards as prescribed by Michigan Department of Public Health.
• Experience with computerized tomography equipment and digital imaging systems.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR system preferred.
• Navy blue scrubs dress code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel experience as a technologist is preferred but not required.
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application (required for RN specialties; preferred for others).
• Experience working in a hospital or trauma center setting.

Additional Information

• Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
• Local traveler policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility.
• The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a busy Emergency Center and offers a broad range of specialty services including cardiovascular, cancer, orthopedic, and elective surgery care.
