Description
Registered Nurse - Stepdown Neuro
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), 5th floor
- 20 beds
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
- Common diagnoses: stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery patients, telemetry patients, and medical patients
- Patient ratio approximately 1:22
Job Responsibilities & Environment
- Care for neuro medical stroke patients, neuro-orthopedic surgeries, overflow telemetry, and medical patients
- Float requirements include Medical, Telemetry, and Neonatal units
- No call requirements
- EHR system used: Cerner (experience required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
Additional Information
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
- Weekly guaranteed hours: approximately 36 hours
- No specified shift or weekend hours detailed
This position is ideal for an experienced neuro stepdown RN with Cerner EHR proficiency seeking a travel assignment in a specialized neuro progressive care setting.
