Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job in Columbus, Ohio
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapist)
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (8.5 hours with 30-minute lunch)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours (10-hour shifts during holiday weeks to maintain 40 hours)
- Weekends: No weekends required
- On-Call: No on-call duties
- Dress Code: Scrubs (black pants, any top)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy Technology
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting results (Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting required under code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification for relevant programs
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership role)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination collected if available
Competency and Training Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exam required prior to start
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for all RN/LVN candidates (not applicable here but noted)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
