Description
MRI Technician Position
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Friday 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM; Saturday & Sunday 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Summary
- Perform MRI imaging safely and efficiently following established guidelines and protocols.
- Must have sound knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, spine anatomy, neuro-vascular anatomy, and head and neck anatomy, including common diseases and their processes in these areas.
- Work independently and collaboratively with Radiologists and other imaging specialists to ensure exam efficiency and patient comfort.
- Aim to achieve the highest diagnostic imaging quality possible.
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid professional license for MRI Technologist in Massachusetts (Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start; conditional licenses not accepted).
- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed).
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation completed prior to fit testing (if fit test required).
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (two vaccines each or proof of immunity via blood test).
- Tuberculosis screening within 3 months of start date (TB skin test or negative blood test), updated if break >6 months.
- Physician Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including Massachusetts CORI and National Sex Offender Registry checks, updated if break >6 months.
- Verification of highest level of education achieved relevant to the position.
- Social Security Number trace covering last 7 years.
- Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days of start and annually.
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level reference in the relevant skillset.
- Completion of skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity (strongly preferred).
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (preferred).
- Documentation of chest x-ray if positive TB test (optional).
Additional Information
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing.
- Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start.
- Background checks include international residence or travel exceeding 30 consecutive days within the last 7 years.
- Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential or profile documentation.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
This position requires a highly skilled MRI Technologist with strong anatomical knowledge and the ability to work varied weekend and overnight shifts. Compliance with all licensing, certification, and health screening requirements is mandatory prior to onboarding.
