Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
  • Shift: Day shift, either 4x12-hour shifts or 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Average Daily Census: 25 patients in a 5-room unit
  • Weekend Requirement: Must work 2-3 weekends per contract
  • On-call: Required as needed
  • Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience (minimum 1 year), with experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
    • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Procedural Sedation Administration and Monitoring experience
  • Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias experience
  • Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record system

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
  • Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks required within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and national databases
  • Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions without restrictions
    • Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
  • Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
  • References: Two professional references required
  • Photo for Badge: Color photo required before start
  • State-Specific Searches: Required within 30 days of start (e.g., Most Wanted, Department of Corrections, State Police registries)
  • Fingerprinting: Must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for candidates without an IL state license providing direct care

Notes

  • First-time travel nurses accepted
  • Candidate may be called off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for those hours; on-call shifts count as called-off shifts
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents such as Code of Conduct and Parking Permit Form within 7 days of contract signing
