Description

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in an emergency department setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
  • Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
  • Organize and prioritize patient care based on patient and family needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and revise patient care plans.
  • Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use appropriate patient education materials.
  • Anticipate discharge needs and support patient and family advocacy.
  • Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment.
  • Communicate effectively within and across departments.
  • Stay informed about public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.
  • Engage in professional growth activities and provide feedback to coworkers.
  • Utilize research and evidence-based practice to inform care.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
