Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 - 19:15)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Position in Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) / Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Patient ratios and daily caseload apply
- Must work every other weekend
- Floating within scope of practice as needed
- Block scheduling may be discussed with manager
- Local candidates accepted without radius restrictions
- Return to Office (RTO) ideally no more than 5 days during assignment
- Guaranteed hours with some allowance for client call-offs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
- Experience with use of Rapid Response Teams
- Cardiovascular care experience including:
- Post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery care
- Sheath removal and TR Band management
- Renal care including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- Arterial line management
- Procedural sedation administration
- Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Neurological/psychiatric case experience including craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Orthopedic experience including ortho trauma and total joint replacements
- Plastic surgery experience including skin grafts and surgical drains
Required Background and Health Documentation
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- State-specific criminal and offender registry searches required within 30 days of start
- Primary source verification of licenses and certifications
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health, communicable disease free, and ability to perform job functions without restrictions
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer
- Varicella vaccine or positive titer
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required
- Badge photo required within one week of contract signing
- Candidate must review and sign code of conduct and other facility-specific documents within 7 days of contract signing
- Parking permit required (no cost)
