X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years) - Contract

Location: New York, NY

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 9 weeks

Job Summary

Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with patients to understand and meet service requirements, reducing anxiety through explanations and answering questions.
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, including use of shielding and beam restriction.
• Maintain quality and production standards by processing radiographs, observing results, and making necessary adjustments.
• Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
• Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain equipment inventories.
• Monitor and maintain radiology supplies inventory.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
• Complete yearly Age Specific Competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York
• Radiology Technologist with 0 years of experience
• Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Experience with MDNC-3221
• X-Ray Technician experience
