Ultrasound Technologist - Maternal Fetal Medicine
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, no floating, no call, no weekends or holidays
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform specialized obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound exams and procedures according to physician orders and established protocols. Prepare images and reports promptly and accurately to support diagnosis and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct specialized obstetric, fetal, and gynecologic diagnostic ultrasound exams to detect fetal and gynecologic anomalies.
- Accurately document appropriate images to provide comprehensive views for physician interpretation.
- Perform fetal monitoring tests as indicated.
- Assist physicians during invasive diagnostic or surgical procedures.
- Educate and support patients and their families, especially in difficult or anxious situations.
- Maintain practice standards per American Society of Radiologic Technicians (ASRT) and American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) accreditation guidelines.
- Utilize radiology and hospital systems for ordering, canceling, tracking tests and patients, retrieving patient information, and charging exams.
Required Qualifications
- Valid license or certification as an Ultrasound Technologist appropriate for Maternal Fetal Medicine specialty.
- Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong skills in patient communication, active listening, and patient care.
- Ability to analyze data, problem solve, and pay close attention to detail.
