Description
CT Tech - Radiology (Travel Position)
Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks (open to 13-26 weeks)
Shift: Days (4x10), 36 guaranteed hours per week
Call Requirements: No call
Weekend Hours: To be discussed during interview/offer
Job Summary
- Perform imaging procedures using Siemens 128-slice CT scanners
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, acting as a patient advocate
- Apply radiation protection principles (excluding MRI) and follow ALARA and “Image Gently” guidelines
- Evaluate exams and procedures for technical quality and perform post-processing of images
- Position and immobilize patients as necessary
- Obtain clinical data and patient history for exam correlation
- Maintain IV skills (CT, MR, and Diagnostic day shift)
- Assist physicians and nursing units in ordering appropriate exams and procedures
- Practice aseptic technique as necessary
- Provide hospitality, courtesy, and compassion to patients
- Recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiate life support measures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
Work Environment & Equipment
- Facility uses Siemens 128-slice CT scanners
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
- Dress code: Black scrubs required; certain attire may be unacceptable (details discussed during onboarding)
Additional Information
- Facility is a Level 3 Emergency and Trauma Center with certifications for Cardiac and Stroke care
- No float requirements
- Patient ratios and number of beds not specified for this role
