Respiratory Therapist (Temp) - Nights

Location: Windsor, Vermont
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care independently, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway management, and assisting with intubations.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws.
• Operate various respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric.
• Use Cerner electronic medical record system.
• Dress code: Business casual or personal scrubs of any color.
• Work in a 35-bed critical access hospital with medical-surgical and inpatient rehabilitation units.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Vermont (must be uploaded).
• NBRC certification (RRT) required.
• Minimum 2 years of current Registered Respiratory Therapy experience.
• Ability to work independently with ventilators, PAP modalities, high-flow oxygen, and perform pulmonary function tests (PFTs).
• Willingness to learn new skills such as home sleep testing and pulmonary rehabilitation.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• One supervisory signed reference from the past two years of employment.
• Must have own vehicle for transportation.
• At least 6 months of previous travel experience is highly preferred.

Additional Information

• CRTs will not be considered.
• Schedule accommodation requests will not be accepted. All scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application.
• Strict attendance policy: after 3 call-offs, contract termination is possible. Call-offs must be communicated at least 1.5 hours in advance to the unit supervisor.
• Non-billable orientation: 8 hours.
• Holiday and overtime multipliers apply.

Patient Care Environment

• Critical access hospital with a trauma level designation.
• Facilities include a therapeutic pool, physical therapy department, acute care, transitional care, and hospice services.
