Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location
- Pratt, Kansas
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
Unit and Patient Ratios
- Unit: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Postpartum experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE certification

- Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum areas
- Float within nursing scope to meet facility needs as required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, federal criminal, sex offender, and DMV checks required within 1 year of start
- E-Verify or attestation proof required
- Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months
- Physical exam within 12 months confirming ability to meet job demands and clearance to work
- Immunizations and titers required or documentation of immunity for:
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest x-ray if previously positive, updated annually
- Flu vaccine mandatory during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31) unless medically exempt; mask required if exempt
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; declination or exemption accepted on facility form
- Proof of 2 professional clinical references required
- Completion of facility-specific training modules and acknowledgment of confidentiality, standards of performance, and safety manuals prior to start
- Competency exams and pharmacology tests required with minimum passing scores

- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions apply; submit all RTO requests at time of application
- Candidate must review and complete restraint training, suicide and behavioral risk assessment, and PRN medication administration training prior to arrival

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with postpartum experience seeking a 13-week travel contract on night shifts in a Level 4 trauma teaching hospital setting.
