- Approximately 36 hours per week
Job Summary
- Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts.
- Utilize nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources to deliver patient care.
- Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Support professional development of peers through constructive feedback and collaboration.
- Adhere to departmental competencies and standards specific to Emergency Department nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN)
Additional Information
- Experience and skills specific to Emergency Department nursing are essential.
- Ability to collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and execute care plans.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and healing environment for patients and staff.
