Registered Nurse - Renal Unit
Location
- Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Summary
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney disease, including those undergoing kidney transplant.
- Care is culturally based and age-specific, following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and ANA code of ethics.
- Work in a 24-bed medical/surgical renal unit with a focus on kidney transplant patients and general medical/surgical cases.
- Participate in care involving peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods).
- Support patients through living related, cadaveric, or paired exchange kidney transplant processes.
- Opportunity to engage in specialized pharmacologic research studies under supervision.
- Remote telemetry monitoring available for 8 beds as needed.

Contract Length
- 8 weeks
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
- Every third weekend and holiday required
- Floating between units required
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Nursing (minimum education)
- Ohio RN license or Compact license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Demonstrated ability to provide age- and culturally-specific patient care and education
- Effective communication skills and maintenance of confidentiality
- Commitment to continuing professional growth and competence
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a culturally diverse environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Hours
- 12 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week
Specialty Experience
- Registered Nurse with experience in renal care or related specialty (years of experience not explicitly stated beyond RN licensure requirement)
