RN Oncology Position - Tulsa, Oklahoma
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology
- Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Patient Population: Medical, oncology, and end-of-life patients
- Chemotherapy: Only nurses with chemotherapy experience will be expected to administer chemotherapy. Chemo education through ONS is preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Minimum of 1 year oncology experience, with oncology experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Testing Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at start)
- Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts, updated every 3 years)
- Specialty Exam in Oncology (minimum 80% or national benchmark, max 2 attempts, updated every 3 years)
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
- Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation
- Skills Checklist for Oncology (completed within one year of start, updated annually)
- Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Pre-Hire Modules including Nova StatStrip
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Optional; exemptions accepted but mask required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Tuberculosis Screening:
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes
- If positive, chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances
Documentation and Verification (Required for submission or onboarding)
- Resume/Profile
- Two professional references
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 90 days of start
- EPLS check within 90 days of start
- License/Certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License or State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Signed Assignment Agreement
- Badge photo (forward-facing, white or blue background, no alterations)
- Confirmation of Assignment on agency letterhead with accurate start/end dates
Additional Notes
- Flu season mask policy applies if influenza vaccine is declined.
- Some optional documents and evaluations may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding.
- All required exams and competencies have a maximum of two attempts to pass.
- Documentation must be kept current and updated as specified to maintain compliance throughout the assignment.
