Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Nights

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12


Job Description

  • Provide patient care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Apply the nursing process to care for patients in the emergency room.
  • Teach patients and their significant others about care and treatment.
  • Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Oregon RN license (does not need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain).
  • Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience (required).
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS (certifications do not need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain).
  • Skills checklist completed within the past year.

Additional Information

  • The facility allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract.
  • There is an in-house Nurse Practitioner available in the Employee Health Department for employees and their dependents.
  • The hospital provides a broad range of medical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, oncology, diabetes and kidney disease treatment, geriatric medicine, emergency medicine, and specialty services.
