Description
CT Technologist (Weekend Night Shift) - Radiology CT
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Health
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform computerized axial tomography (CT) procedures using various imaging equipment and administer contrast materials according to established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans and assigned invasive procedures, including multiplanar reformats and 3D rendered images independently.
- Review patient labs and history to ensure correct exam performance.
- Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate.
- Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions.
- Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
- Ensure safety of patients, visitors, and environment; report safety events immediately.
- Assist in instructing students and new staff.
- May perform duties of CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
- Maintain productivity levels and assist other areas during downtimes.
- May perform duties in other modalities within licensure scope as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
Licenses & Certifications
- IEMA Radiography License (Illinois)
- Radiography (R)(ARRT) OR Nuclear Medicine Tech Certification (NMTCB)
- Computed Tomography (CT)(ARRT)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of technical expertise in radiology (highest stated requirement)
- Ability to perform multiple tasks independently while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures
- Positive attitude with willingness to improve work environment
Additional Information
- Weekend schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Must be able to work night shifts of 12 hours each
- Prior travel experience is not specified or required for this position
