Job Details

• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapist)
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Total Hours: 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only)

Background Checks & Verifications

• Standard background check including 7-year search of locations lived/worked/school
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification via transcript, diploma, or equivalent
• Sex offender search required
• Employment application required
• Two professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care candidates

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start (Blue card only; Red card not accepted)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (if applicable)
• Competency exams as required by profession
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (not applicable for PT)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam clearance within the past year
• Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (QGold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD)
• TB questionnaire within 14 days of start
• Positive titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella; low titers require booster; declinations generally not accepted except for Hepatitis B with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September - March)
• COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of orientation checklists within first 30 days of assignment (general orientation, unit-specific competency, CORE competency, unit tour)
• Required attestations and agreements including de-escalation modules, arbitration agreement, voluntary meal waiver, access request form, and assault responsive competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training, $80 fee)
• Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for certain specialties; verify if applicable

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, EFM, STABLE, NIH Stroke Certification, and Maternal Fetal Triage Index are not required for this Physical Therapist role.
