Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Evening (5 days a week, 8 hours per day; 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
- Hours per week: 40
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI accepted (letter of completion not accepted)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI accepted (letter of completion not accepted)
- Other certifications may be unit-specific; verify per assignment requirements
Background and Credentialing Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including:
- Social Security Trace
- Counties lived/worked
- Nationwide search
- Sex Offender Registry
- Motor Vehicle Record (if driving is part of the job)
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start using code 3701.881
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing:
- MRI Tech candidates must have graduated from accredited programs
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or TB questionnaire in lieu of annual test
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Two vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination acceptable
- Varicella: Two vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declining
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Competency Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exams required prior to start
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for all candidates prior to start
Facility Policies and Compliance
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual, ethics, and compliance policies required
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse reporting training and certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required for contracts signed May 19, 2025, and beyond
Additional Notes
- Fingerprinting results must be submitted with all pages included; facility reviews all hits including dismissed charges
- If charges are unclear, additional documentation showing final outcomes must be provided
- Fingerprinting must be completed at approved locations; out-of-state candidates may require mail-in fingerprinting with longer processing times
- Candidates with contract breaks over 90 days must renew fingerprinting if older than 1 year
- Background check and fingerprinting processes are time-sensitive and must be completed promptly
