Surgery Tech Position - Colorado, Golden

Job Summary

• Perform duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure safe and successful operative procedures.
• Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to Surgical Services management.
• Support surgical operations initiatives and participate in the surgical operations safety plan.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for operating room and surgical items sterilization.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure a safe environment.
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgery.
• Assist surgeons during procedures within the scope of practice.
• Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist experience within the last year.
• Surgical Technologist experience supporting surgical teams, sterile field management, sterilization processes, and life support in surgical care.
• Clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or GED,
  OR
• Graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the last six months,
  OR
• Training in the US military that substitutes for formal surgical technologist training.

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 4 nights per week (Monday to Thursday), 10-hour shifts (8:30 PM to 7:00 AM).
• No on-call or weekend shifts required.

This position does not require prior travel experience.
