Description

Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (PM Shift)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical unit on the PM shift.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Trauma nursing experience

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete and submit the following prior to or at onboarding:

Health & Immunizations

  • Fit Test for N95 respirators or PAPR (annual requirement).
  • Proof of MMR immunity (2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer).
  • Proof of Varicella immunity (2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer).
  • Hepatitis B series, positive titer, or declination accepted.
  • Tuberculosis testing (QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test) within 30 days prior to start; chest x-ray if prior positive.
  • Physical/Health statement dated within 1 year.
  • Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended during flu season.

Background & Screening

  • Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to start, including 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, and sex offender registry.
  • 9-panel drug screen completed within 90 days prior to start (marijuana excluded).

Documentation & Verification

  • Current valid driver’s license or government-issued ID (front side only).
  • Two professional references from charge nurse or higher within last 2 years.
  • Highest level of education verification (transcripts or third-party verification).
  • Resume submission required.
  • Badge photo meeting specified criteria (color, recent, no filters, solid background).

Testing & Training

  • Completion of ECG exam with certificate upload.
  • Skills checklist current within 12 months prior to start.
  • Internal competency checklist to be completed within 2 weeks after start.
  • Annual compliance training module completed with certificate upload.
  • Specialty and pharmacology exams recommended but optional.

Employment Eligibility

  • I-9 E-Verify attestation required.

Additional Notes

  • All onboarding requirements must be completed within specified timeframes to maintain assignment eligibility.
  • Some immunization requirements cannot be declined if working with vulnerable populations (e.g., infants, expectant mothers).
  • Flu vaccine exemptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
