    Description

    Cath Lab Technologist

    Location: Tacoma, Washington
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    • Work primarily in the Cath Lab unit with 2 Cath Lab suites and 1 vascular suite.
    • Average of 22 cases per day between Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP), starting with about 15 cases and potentially taking on up to 15 additional cases.
    • Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, documenting, and assisting with cardiac procedures such as right and left heart catheterizations, structural heart and vascular cases (e.g., TAVR, mitral clip).
    • Requires knowledge of IABP and Impella insertion.
    • May float to EP lab as all suites operate as a combined unit with a one-team approach.

    Work Schedule

    • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
    • Call required: 8-10 days of call in a 6-week period
    • May work past normal shift end time to complete cases

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
    • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist and Electrophysiology Technician.
    • Certification required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and ARRT.
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
    • Experience with sedation and Phase 1 recovery.

    Orientation & Team Structure

    • Unit-specific orientation: 1 week
    • Team includes charge or lead nurse, lead technologist, supervisor, and director.
    • Emphasis on teamwork and collaboration within the combined Cath Lab and EP unit.

    Additional Notes

    • Technologists must be able to scrub, monitor, and document during procedures.
    • Circulating, prep, and recovery experience preferred, especially for RN roles within the unit.
    • Dress code and scrub color provided.
    • On-call coverage required when not in-house.
