Surgical Tech Position - Troy, New York

Job Details

• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
• Shift Options:

  • 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), Monday through Friday
  • 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), Wednesday through Friday
• On-Call Requirement: 3-4 shifts per month during weeknight evenings and weekends
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of surgical tech experience
• Surgical Experience Areas: General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Robotics, Thoracic, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Vascular, Ophthalmology, ENT

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technician with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Health and Compliance Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

• COVID-19 vaccine with booster proof (valid through September 2025) or approved exemption
• MMR vaccination proof (2 doses or IgG titer lab report)
• Fit test for respiratory protection (specific mask type if applicable)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start (proof of 1st shot required)
• Influenza vaccine (optional but recommended)
• Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test; if positive, recent chest x-ray required
• Varicella vaccination proof or IgG titer lab report
• Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC allowed)

Professional and Background Requirements

• Resume and skills checklist (within the last year)
• Two professional references
• Signed confidentiality, conflict of interest, code of conduct, and integrity/audit forms
• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check (last 7 years) including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED
• Exclusion and sanction screenings (EPLS, OIG, NSO) dated within 30 days of start
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
• CORE exam completed within the last year
• System access form completed and uploaded one week before start
• Standard I-9 verification completed by agency

This position requires a certified surgical technician with at least one year of experience across multiple surgical specialties, flexibility for on-call shifts, and compliance with comprehensive health, background, and professional credentialing requirements.
