Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a 26-bed Emergency Department with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, flexible based on acuity.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend
• No call requirements
• Patient population includes all ages (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
• Use of Meditech EHR system and standard ED equipment including GE monitors
• Typical cases include respiratory distress, overdose, congestive heart failure (CHF), dialysis, and hypertension (HTN)
• Orientation offered bi-weekly with upcoming start dates

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Information

• Facility is located 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC, near major universities and recreational areas
• Float assignments may be required within the unit
