Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Floating: Must be willing to float between two nearby facilities

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)
• Holiday coverage includes July 3rd & 4th, Thanksgiving (day before and day of), and New Year's Day (day before and day of)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Fit Test
• Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen (no THC) completed within 30 days of start, with Medical Review Officer (MRO) signature
• COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by Sept 2025), or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted for CA or IL)
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer lab report
• Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start (titers not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine (optional) with proof or declination/exemption
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB as per regional requirements
• Varicella: Proof of 1 vaccination or IgG titer lab report
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work within the last year
• Tdap vaccine or declination (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction)

Professional and Background Requirements

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year
• Two professional references
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) covering last 7 years, dated within 30 days of start
• Social Security Number verification
• Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED)
• Exclusion screenings: EPLS, OIG, NSO (including aliases), all dated within 30 days of start
• Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form
• Code of Conduct Form
• Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement
• Integrity and Audit Services Form (signed shortly before start)
• Non-Employee Upload Form (specific pages required)
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year
• System Access Form completed and uploaded one week before start
• Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors
• Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only)
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry checks within 30 days prior to start
• OFAC sanctions screening within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to float between two locations within the city
• Night shift hours with holiday rotation
• All documentation must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding as specified
